The Government of Meghalaya on July 31, 2026, notified the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Multi Year Tariff) (5 of 2026) Regulations, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) has notified the Multi-Year Tariff Regulations, 2026 to establish the framework for determination of electricity tariffs for multiple years.
•The Regulations prescribe procedures for tariff determination, approval, and review for generating companies, transmission and distribution licensees, and other covered entities.
•They provide for multi-year tariff principles, revenue requirements, performance norms, and sharing of gains/losses during the tariff period.
•The Regulations aim to promote financial sustainability, efficiency, transparency, and predictability in tariff regulation in Meghalaya.
•They shall come into force on July 31, 2026.
